Treatment Pathway

Ibogaine treatment in Mexico.

A medically supervised psychedelic therapy showing remarkable results for opioid addiction, alcoholism, PTSD and treatment-resistant depression — accessible now, in safe clinics across Mexico.

What is ibogaine?

Ibogaine is a natural substance that comes from the root of a plant found in West Africa. Many people who have gone through difficult struggles with addiction have found it to be a powerful tool in helping them begin a new chapter in life. Under proper medical supervision, a single ibogaine treatment has helped many individuals break free from dependence on opioids and other substances, greatly reducing withdrawal and giving them the opportunity to think clearly once again.

Many people describe the experience as a deep cheshbon hanefesh — an honest accounting of one's life. During the treatment, a person often gains insight into the pain, trauma, and challenges that may have been weighing on them for many years. It can create a unique opportunity to face those struggles with clarity and begin the process of healing.

Unlike treatments that require daily medication, ibogaine is generally administered as a single intensive experience. Many who have undergone treatment report feeling as though they have been given a fresh start, with renewed hope, a stronger sense of purpose, and the ability to move forward with greater strength and determination.

Of course, ibogaine is not a magic solution. Lasting recovery still requires commitment, support, guidance, and continued personal growth. But for many people who felt trapped for years, it has opened a door that they never thought was possible and given them the chance to return to a healthier, more meaningful life.

What it can help with

Opioid use disorder

Heroin, fentanyl, oxycodone and other opioids — ibogaine is best known for eliminating acute withdrawal within hours.

Alcohol dependence

Reduces cravings and the compulsive cycle that fuels relapse.

Stimulant addiction

Cocaine, methamphetamine and similar substances.

PTSD & complex trauma

Including combat trauma in veterans and first responders.

Treatment-resistant depression

For those who have not responded to SSRIs or talk therapy alone.

Anxiety & despair

When standard psychiatric care has reached its limits.

How treatment works

Treatment unfolds over roughly 7–10 days at a licensed Mexican clinic, with medical oversight at every stage.

Phase 1

Medical screening

Comprehensive cardiac (EKG), liver function and psychiatric evaluation before any dose is administered. Ibogaine is only safe under medical supervision.

Phase 2

The ibogaine session

A single, carefully dosed session lasts roughly 24–36 hours. Patients are continuously monitored by physicians and trained staff in a clinical setting.

Phase 3

Integration & aftercare

Days of rest, therapy, and integration work follow the experience. Most clients combine ibogaine with follow-up counseling and community support back home.

Executive Order · April 18, 2026

A federal turning point — but not yet a federal solution.

On April 18, 2026, President Donald J. Trump signed the executive order "Accelerating Medical Treatments for Serious Mental Illness," directing the FDA, DEA, HHS and Department of Veterans Affairs to fast-track psychedelic therapies — explicitly naming ibogaine — for depression, PTSD, addiction and suicide prevention, with a focus on veterans.

The order prioritizes FDA review, opens a Right to Try pathway for eligible patients, allocates at least $50 million for state partnerships, and instructs the Attorney General to reschedule approved psychedelic drugs once Phase 3 trials are complete.

This is a historic step. But Phase 3 trials, FDA approval, DEA rescheduling, clinic licensing, physician training and insurance coverage realistically take many years. For most Americans suffering today, ibogaine will not be legally available — let alone covered by insurance — for the foreseeable future.
